Biography

Andy from Teach Me First grows up on a working family farm, sharing the house with his father, Jack, and later his stepsister, Mia, after Jack marries Sarah. Protective by nature, he helps before anyone needs to ask. He reads to Mia, looks after her small scrapes, and becomes someone she trusts. When he earns a place at a university far from home, the family routine changes. In the city, he meets Ember, and their relationship becomes serious enough for an engagement. Andy still cares deeply about the people back on the farm. He just doesn't yet know what returning will ask of him.

Andy's Role in the Story

Andy wants everybody to feel comfortable, but feels caught in the middle himself. In Teach Me First, the loyal fiancé arrives expecting to introduce Ember and enjoy time with his family. Instead, Mia's reactions make him uncertain about habits that used to feel harmless. Despite his big-city life, in the free chapters, he responds the way he always has: he helps when there's trouble, tries to lighten awkward moments, and reaches for a quick explanation when questions arise. That kindness is genuine, but it doesn't always make things easier.
